Tim McCoy “Grover” Lovejoy, 75, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.



Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Greater Love Temple, 811 S. Tennessee St. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.



Tim Lovejoy was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Nashville, Ark., to McCoy and Cosie Lovejoy. He married his faithful and loving wife, Renia Lovejoy of Amarillo, in 2008. He attended school at Patton High School and Carver High School.



He served in the Army for nine years. He was a faithful member of Greater Love Temple and played guitar at the church. He was a United Methodist lay speaker minister in Duluth, Minn., and also was a very talented artist.



He was preceded in death by his father, McCoy Lovejoy; two sisters, Eloise McFall and Brenda Buckler Jones; and two brothers, Jimmy Lovejoy and Robert Hearon.



Survivors include his wife, Renia Lovejoy of Amarillo; a son, Tim Lovejoy Jr. of Seattle; three stepdaughters, Ashley Mayes of Amarillo, Renee Dunbar of Independence, Mo., and Robin Kipper of Milwaukee; three stepsons, Jessie W. Walker Jr. of Houston, Christopher Palmer of Vernon and Gregory Kipper of Mason City, Iowa; his mother, Cosie Lovejoy Hearon of California; two sisters, Elma Jean Holmes of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Celestine Heaton Clements of San Bernardino, Calif.; a brother, Clifford Lovejoy of Amarillo; and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives.
