Wayne was born Aug. 28, 1951, in Detroit, Texas, to Clarence Nelson Jr. and Tommie Lou Nelson. Wayne was very talented and loved the time he spent working with his dad at Red’s Trucking Co. He loved hanging out at New Light Ministries, where he spent hours doing all kinds of work around the church. He loved being in the prayer room with the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

He has a passion for trying to help others, especially his nephew, Marcelles Allen and wife Marlene of Amarillo, his spiritual dad and mother, Bishop Richard and Pastor Eleanor Murray, his spiritual brothers, “Sons of Thunder,” and sisters, “Women of the Word.” He will be missed by many. Thank you God for the memories.

He leaves behind to celebrate his life his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Tara Moore and husband William of Frisco and Casey Nelson of Amarillo; two sons, Cody Nelson and Clifford Hurd and wife Brandi, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Gloria and husband Robert of Louisiana and Linda Allen of Amarillo; two brothers, Larry Nelson and wife Barbara of Duncanville and William Scott Jr. and wife Corinng of Amarillo; and 12 grandchildren.
