Timothy Manuel Sherwood Jr., 68, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.



Services will be at 11 a.m. in Penecostal Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Elijah Demerson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.



Timothy was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Amarillo to Cora Lee and Timothy Sherwood Sr. He attended Amarillo public schools. In high school, he ran track on a state finalist team and also was the quaterback for his high school football team. He was a proud graduate of Carver Dragons class of 1964.



Tim attended Langston University and was drafted into the Army in February 1966. Timothy married Eddie Marie Tillman on July 25, 1993. He worked for Pioneer Natural Resources, formerly Colorado Interstate Gas Co., for 46 years. Some of his hobbies were golfing, fishing, gambling, playing cards, dominoes and hanging out with his buddies at The Taliban.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronnie Sherwood; a sister, Salemma Sherwood; and a longtime friend, Frank Warmsley.



Survivors include his wife, Marie Sherwood; six sons, Tim Moore and wife Rose, Detrick Sherwood and wife Jennifer, Tyson Sherwood and wife Bliss, and Artrail Tillman and wife Shelanda, all of Amarillo, William Bailey and wife Rebecca of Big Spring and Bobby Tillman of Fort Worth; two daughters, Robmikia Holman and husband Ricky of Wylie and Tamesha Clark Young and husband Josh, of Amarillo; a goddaughter, Kami Warmsley of Amarillo; his aunts and uncles, Richard Johnson, Josephine Johnson and Helen Johnson, of Hearne; 28 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
