Harold Gilmore Sr., 70, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 6, 2013.



Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Tiller Watson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.



Mr. Gilmore was born April 30, 1942, in Clarendon. He attended North Heights and Carver High School in Amarillo. He was formerly employed with Amarillo Smelter and Amarillo Independent School District of Amarillo.



Survivors include his wife, Lillie Pearl Gilmore; three sons, Harold Gilmore Jr. and wife Keeshi, Joseph Gilmore and wife Veronica and Troy Johnson and wife Camelia, all of Amarillo; two daughters, April Gilmore and Corliss Harris and husband Shawn, all of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Hattie Mae Hurd of Amarillo; three sisters, Ruthie Darrows of Houston, Hellene Heath and Stella Aldridge, both of Dallas; a brother, Robert Heath of Dallas; five brothers-in-law, William F. Hurd and wife Renee, Lon Hurd and Silas Hurd, all of Dallas, and Calvin Hurd and Olaf Hurd, both of Amarillo; three sisters-in-law, Darlene Douglas and husband Edwin of Raytown, Mo., Sarah “Jean” Bates and husband Charles of Arlington and Larita “Sha” Crayton of Hallsville; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
