Services were at 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. James Collins, pastor, officiating. Burial in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.

Mr. Jackson was born July 28, 1927, in Amarillo. He attended Amarillo public schools and was a veteran of the Army. He was an employee for Santa Fe Railroad until he retired.

He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for 74 years. He served on the senior usher board, deacon ministry and on the trustee board. He was a very faithful member until his health failed.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; five daughters, Carolyn Jackson May and husband Wendell of Texas City, Karmyn West and Collette Sterling, both of Killen, Tamara and Jennifer Drone of Amarillo; a son, Earnest Drone of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
