
Curtis Tee Taylor
1943-10-17 2012-05-29Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Vurn C. Martin, pastor of The Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, as eulogist and the Rev. Joe Taylor of Emmanuel Church of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.
Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 17, 1943, to his lovely mother, Mary Magdalene Taylor, and raised by L.T. Taylor of Lone Oak. He attended Hilltop Elementary, Carver Elementary and was a 1965 graduate of Carver High School.
Mr. Taylor was a jack-of-all-trades. He owned Mr. Record for 46 years, selling thousands of 45 records, 78 record albums, cassettes and CDs in R&B, gospel, jazz, hip-hop and country and western. He was an auto technician. He also had been employed with Precious Metal and Smelters, ASARCO, Bell Helicopter, United States Postal Service, IBP and Affiliated Foods.
Mr. Taylor attended Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church until his health failed.
Curtis was a great guy, a true jack of all trades. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
