Helen Delores Turner, 61, of Dallas died Thursday, February 23, 2012.

Memorial services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas.

Helen Delores Turner was born November 7, 1950, in Amarillo to Mr. and Mrs. James Turner. She was baptized at an early age at Johnson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She attended Carver High School through her junior year and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1968. In 1969, she enrolled in IBM school in Dallas. After completeing her training, she enlisted in the Army for two years. She returned to Dallas, where she was employed by the post office for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dizzy, Kenneth and Tommie Turner.

Survivors include a daughter, Ayanna Meoshea Butler; a son, Daniel Deshawn Turner; two brothers, Johnny and wife Judy and Benny and wife Lena, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Patricia Jackson and Joyce Turner, both of Dallas; two aunts, Dorothy Johnson of Stockton, Calif., and Goldie McCaleb of Los Angeles; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
