Ms. Harper was born April 25, 1949, in Amarillo. She attended North Heights
Elementary School and Carver High School. She worked for Texas Panhandle Community Action — now known as Panhandle Community Services. She also worked for Jan Werner Adult Services for several years. She attended North Heights Church of Christ until her health failed.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Jewell Harper Jr., Dwayne Marvin Harper and Jerry Wayne Harper, all of Amarillo; a special son, Ken Smith of Amarillo; two daughters, Rhonda Harper and Bronda Evans and Bernard, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Marvin Smith and wife Maggie and Lorenzo Smith and wife Jean, all of Amarillo; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
