Wake services were from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday June 13, 2008 in Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday June 14, 2008 in Emmanuel Church of Amarillo with the Rev. Joe Taylor, pastor, officiating. Burial in Llano Cemetery.

Lajuanda was born Nov. 23, 1950, to Cecil and Mattie Lee Johnson, in Jacksonville, the third of six children.

She attended Hilltop Elementary School, Carver Junior High School and graduated from Palo Duro High School. She also attended West Texas State University and graduated from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing. She was a longtime employee of Northwest Texas Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Brent Rusk and wife Melissa of Amarillo; a daughter, Leslie Rusk of Amarillo; a brother, Neal Johnson of Plano; two sisters, Anna Lewis of La Paloma, Calif., and Vivian Hollings of North Richland Hills; and three grandchildren.
