
Eddie Lewis Johnson

Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Herbert and Mozelle Wilbon Johnson. He attended Catholic school and Amarillo public schools, graduating in 1959 from Carver High School.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and received an honorable discharge.
He entered into holy matrimony with Thelma âTJâ Haynes in 1969. They were blessed with two children, Michael Lynn and Jo Linda Johnson.
Mr. Johnson and his family made their home in San Diego after moving there in 1972. He was a man of various talents and hobbies, but most people remember his love for reading and collecting books, especially biblical history.
A pioneer in computers, his career included positions with Xerox and other information technology companies. He was a classic 1964 Ford Thunderbird enthusiast and restored and drove one until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; two sisters, Linda Joan Johnson Washington and Katherine Sue Johnson; and two brothers, Kenneth Ray Johnson and Herbert D. Johnson Sr.
Survivors include two children, Michael Lynn Johnson of San Diego and Jo Linda Johnson of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Frankie Johnson of Denver; his devoted friend, TJ Johnson of San Diego; and many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
