Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Johnson Chapel in African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Phillip Randle, pastor, and the Rev. E.J. Coffer as eulogist. Burial in Llano Cemetery by Warford Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.

Bobby J. Johnson was born September 26, 1936, to Elmer and Roberta Green Johnson in Kurten. The family came to Amarillo in 1953, and he attended Carver High School. He was employed as a maintenance man for St. Andrew Episcopal Center for 36 years.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Johnson and wife Dede; a daughter, Cynthia Johnson Green of Amarillo; two brothers, John Johnson of Oklahoma City and Aubry J. Johnson of Denver, Colo.; two sister, Rose Johnson and Frankie McMilla, both of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and other relatives.
