Lugene Reed Jr., 63, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 28, 2011.

Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel, 509 N. Hughes St., with the Rev. E.J. Cofer officiating.

Lugene was born August 10, 1947, in Amarillo. He was educated in the Amarillo school system. He lived in Amarillo for 63 years and was a member of Carter Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; three sons, Codi Reed of Holiday, Fla., and Joshua and Chance Reed, both of Amarillo; his stepmother, Julia Reed of Amarillo; 10 sisters, Gloria Jean Reed, Patricia Ridout and Romona Leaks, all of Albuquerque, N.M., Brenda Ridout of Denver, Rosie L. Reed of Venice, Kaysee Smalley of Minnesota, Bonnie A. Carter of Waxahachie, Thelma Jean Williams of Dallas, April Reed of Chicago and Ruthie Walker of Amarillo; three brothers, Marshall Ray Reed and Allen L. Reed, both of Amarillo, and Earl Watson of Grant, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
